The Hospitality Committee would like to welcome grandparents or special guests in your child’s life to come share lunch with their grandchildren during their designated lunch time.

If your child’s last name starts with letters:

• A-H Grandparents will have lunch on Wednesday, 

November 2nd.

• I-P Grandparents will have lunch on Thursday, 

November 3rd.

• Q-Z Grandparents will have lunch on Friday, 

November 4th.

Community Outreach Food Drive

The PTA Community Outreach Committee is organizing a Food Drive next week on Thursday, October 27th and Friday, October 28th. Please consider donating these much needed food items for our Thanksgiving Food Baskets to be given to families in need at Ettrick Elementary School. Donations will be picked up from your child’s classroom on the 27th and 28th. To help us provide an assortment, these are the suggested items most needed. Kindergarten: Boxed mixes (muffins, biscuits, stuffing, brownie, cake) 1st Grade: Dried or canned pasta, spaghetti sauce (no glass jars), Spaghetti O’s, Elbow Macaroni, Ramen Noodles 2nd Grade: Canned or dried soup (tomato, chicken noodle, various cream soups), Boxed Macaroni & Cheese 3rd Grade: Canned fruits (peaches, pears, mandarins, fruit cocktail), canned vegetables (peas, corn, green beans, potatoes) 4th Grade: Peanut Butter, Jelly, apple sauce (no glass jars), Breakfast bars, instant oatmeal 5th Grade: Juice boxes, canned meat (SPAM, turkey, chicken, tuna) Any donations are welcome, but please NO GLASS JARS or expired food products. Thank you from the Community Outreach Committee for your support.

Just a gentle reminder…

With your child’s interim, you received a notice about an upcoming information meeting about MIDDLE SCHOOL placement and the processes that occur for FIFTH graders.

At the meetings you will learn how to read the NEW gifted education profile, and you will also find out which specific tests your child may be taking and WHY.   Information regarding math acceleration placement criteria will also be shared.

I hope you will be able to join us for one of the sessions.  Children are welcome to attend the evening gathering but should not miss class for the daytime chats.
